Have you tried changing your eating habits and exercising and still wondering why you are noticing the fat tire in your midsection and random breakouts on your face that will not go away. Well let me introduce you to the problem. Walk over to the mirror and say "self meet the problem". It's simple, a lot of us are our own worst enemy. We stress and issue until the original issue is now no longer a simple problem it is now the source of our stress. Stress produces cortisol from our adrenal glands which in turn attaches itself to stored calories which produces fat. Our body acts like it is going into war and starts to stock pile fat for the impending attack by the enemy and this stock pile of fat, sugar and cortisol go to our stomachs to wait out the attack. Unfortunately, this happens and we have now stressed ourselves into being unhealthy. If you are not sure if this is true, just ask a someone who has suffered a bad breakup about the boxes of cookie dough ice cream in the freezer or the bags cookies in the cupboard. As far as your skin is concerned sugar breaks down collagen and elastin and leads to sagging skin and wrinkles. Additionally, the excess sugar will be a major factor in causing inflammation to the skin, which in turn will produce breakouts which, could play a role in causing acne and rosacea. So the moral of it all is to stop stressing and start living everyday with thankfulness in your head and heart and let the air out of the flat tire and watch the glow come back to your skin.
I received a question today wanting to know how do I know what area of the body you are focusing on when you try different fruits and veggies for detox purposes. With this question comes today's conversation. First and foremost, when you detox your overall health is improved. However, here is a simple charting of what helps where.
Blood Lymph Liver Gallbladder Pancreas Kidneys
Cayenne Pepper Strawberries Grapefruit Cucumber Cherries Cranberries
Garlic Lemon water Apples Watermelon Blueberries Raspberries
Leafy Green Carrots Spinach Avocado Spinach Red Bell Pepper
The above is just a quick glance however, let me focus in on a few others that are truly multi-functional. Now this does not mean the others listed above are not multi-functional but the following is what I consider to be a power punch.
Lemons: 1. Promote healthy digestion, all of the organs that are associated with digestion are then reaping the benefits. For those of you that are suffering from indigestion, bloating and heartburn then lemons are the answer. 2. Strengthens the immune system, fresh lemons in your water causes your body to absorb the iron you need in order to promote a healthy immune system. 3. Promotes skin repair, (This is of course my favorite benefit). Promotes proper cell regeneration in the skin, flush out the free radicals, helps promote collagen production, helps produce the protein that will help in the elasticity in the skin, and so much more. 4. Detoxifies the liver, it does this by increasing the production of bile thereby removing toxins and other harmful substances.
I will continue with the next power punch with the next post but, I hope you get it. At least start off throwing the first punch for your health to avoid getting knocked out with poor health.
Our tips normally involve doing things that will promote healthy skin and body however, today we are focusing on your overall standards of life. If you want to "win" at life, happiness, peace, and love, then you need to do something that represents a victory. For example, if you are addicted to the tv, try reading a book. "Winning". If you have a obsession to sodas, try drinking water or juice for a few days until you pull back from them. "Winning" If you struggle with being nice to your neighbor, try a kind act for no reason and watch how that simple act will put you on the road to recovery. Happy Winning to all
What can 10 minutes of quiet time do for you?
We all get caught up in the next task of our day and often forget something that we meant to do. Also, we get so caught up running through our day we do not take a simple 10 minutes to just reflect on things of the past, present, or future. Take 10 minutes today to just focus on good quality deep breaths. It will allow your mind to have a release and your body will thank you for it.
For those of you that are keeping up we are now up to 15 minutes. The final goal is to give yourself atleast 1 hour a day!
